I was intrigued by the idea of simple and easy to use marine navigation maps developed by the company. As a glider pilot I have used similar apps for flying that show wind conditions and weather patterns for soaring. I found those tools very helpful and can relate to the purpose of Savvy Navvy. The app provides comparable information for boating, including wind conditions, tidal data, wave information and more.
The company is also expanding by integrating its product into OEM helm displays through partnerships with boat manufacturers. I believe this is a smart direction because it creates two customer groups and therefore two revenue streams. One group consists of owners of larger boats with built in helm displays featuring Savvy Navvy charts. The other group includes users who access the app through a subscription on phones or tablets for boats, kayaks and other vessels that do not have helm displays.
